Delete your Scovl account

Permanent removal of your account and the data associated with it.

Scovl is operated by Justin Peters. This page explains how to delete your Scovl account, what data is removed, and what may be retained.

Option 1 — Delete in the app (fastest)

Recommended

Open the Scovl app (iOS, Android, or web at app.scovl.app) and sign in.
Tap your profile avatar in the bottom-right and choose Settings.
Scroll to Account and tap Delete account.
Confirm. Your account is permanently removed immediately.

Option 2 — Email us

If you can't access the in-app option, email privacy@scovl.app from the address associated with your Scovl account and ask us to delete it. Include your username if you can. We respond within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30 days.

What gets deleted

Your badges and streak history	Yes — immediately
Notifications addressed to you	Yes — immediately

What may be retained, and why

Abuse / safety reports — if your account was the subject of a moderation report, we may retain a minimal record (account ID, the offending content, the action taken) for safety and fraud-prevention purposes.
Encrypted backups — full backup snapshots are rotated out within 30 days. After that point, your data is fully purged.
Legal records — any data we are legally required to retain (extremely rare; we keep no payment records since Scovl is free).

Deleting individual content without deleting your account

You don't need to delete your whole account to remove specific items:

A burn (check-in) — open the burn, tap the menu icon, choose Delete.
A comment or reaction — tap and hold (or open the menu) on your comment / reaction and choose Delete.
A photo or video — edit the burn it belongs to and remove the media, or delete the burn.
Profile fields — Settings → Edit profile to clear bio, avatar, etc.

Account recovery

Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. After deletion, the same email address may sign up again, but the new account will be empty — there is no way to recover the deleted profile, burns, photos, or social graph.
